Regeneration and Distribution

In the first of a series of applications for the M2LC I present a document describing a proposal for using multiple M2L converters in the control of energy generation, storage and distribution in a state-of-the-art wind farm.

localized DC grid links together multiple cells that can both generate and store energy. At various predetermined points additional M2L converters would be used to provide a connection back to the legacy AC grid.

Cells can generate and store power concurrently. Those that have exceed their ability to store energy locally can transfer power to the storage units of other cells. If needed, the cells can also store power taken from the AC grid.

This is explained in detail in the following paper.
